Timothy Beutler recieved both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in music composition, and now plays drums and accordion in math rock americana band OSO.</p> <p>And <a target="_blank" href="http://www.myspace.com/meghanlehman">Meghan Lehman</a>:</p> <p>Somewhere between the angels of heaven and the devil himself lies the mind and songs of Santa Barbara singer/songwriterMeghan Lehman. At a glance, Lehman perfectly fits the part of the sweet-voiced, sun-bleached California chick strumming her guitar and singing pretty songs. But a closer look reveals surprisingly witty, layered, smart songs that indicate a far fuller musical personality than most of her peers can muster. Blending a timeless, old-fashioned style with utterly modern, sometimes ribald subject matter and lyrics, Lehman is an oddity among the armies of acoustic-guitar wielding songstresses, at times earnest or whimsical or sneering or all of the above in a single verse.
